Firefighters Released From Hospital After Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Ambulance In MD (Video)

Two firefighters were injured in Prince George's County on Thursday night when a tractor-trailer crashed into an ambulance and several other vehicles.

An ambulance that was stopped on the Inner Loop of the Beltway and MD-210 at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 in Oxon Hill when it was struck by the truck driver, according to officials.

At the time of the crash, the ambulance was at the scene of a previous accident on I-495.

Video was released by the Prince George's Fire Department on Saturday, June 17 of the incident.

A pair of firefighters suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and were taken to nearby hospitals, and the ambulance sustained massive damage. 

They have since been released.

"Thankfully, the two (Prince George's County Fire Department) firefighters only suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from the hospital," officials said. 

"The end result could have been tragic for all of the public safety resources that were on scene that night."

No information has been provided about the driver or injured firefighters' identities. 

The crash remains under investigation.
